Freedom or freedom?

Ok... so I pinned a few guys down in a discussion recently... and it really has opened my eyes about the nature of this left-right dichotomy, a gaping CHASM if you will, in this nation. In the entire WORLD really. The root of the issue is this: The revolutionary Idea that came to fruition in 1776, a paradigmatic shift really, was that each man owns himself absolutely. He is endowed, by his Creator or by Nature, whichever you prefer, with inalienable Rights. These Rights are not bestowed, or given, by others... they are his whether anyone respects them or not. They are his even if he is unaware of them. Even though he might try to sell or abdicate them, or even deny their existence, there they remain… right at the very core of every man’s soul. It is the Logical end-result of the realization of what it means to be the only sentient, rational being on this planet, and, so far, in the entire Universe! It is the very manifestation of a perfect understanding of human Nature. Rights can only be violated.

It wasn't until 1776 that finally a government was instituted among men that held as its' central tenet a respect for the Rights of the Individual (which means in-divisible). For the first time ever, Man is FREE... with no if's, and's, or but's. No asterisk, no footnote. Absolutely FREE.

One of the first things you have to learn in Law School, as well as the very study of Logic, is that a thing cannot both BE and NOT BE at the same time. Our entire legal system was founded on it, and utterly depends on it.

The seed of destruction was planted the first time someone said, "Well, you can't be free to not pay your taxes." And so... the question should have been, "Well, are we Free or not Free?" We cannot be both at the same time. In this country, in the land that our forefathers fought and died for so that we might be absolutely Free, with a capital F, we have willingly relinquished our birthright by agreeing that it should be a relative freedom, with a lower-case f. At first, we willingly sold off bits and pieces of it in exchange for things we thought we needed and that we thought government could better provide. Now we are selling if off at record pace for shit like "Obama phones" and "free" healthcare, never mind that the strings attached have become CHAINS!

I have taken a lot of criticism for my obsession with the idea of absolute, Objective Truth. But the alternative to that is called relative, Subjective truth. And it is the ONLY alternative. Once you abandon Objective Truth, you abandon logic, reason, and science. And you start getting numbskulls who wonder, "If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around to hear it... does it really make a sound?" You also get people who deny the humanity (Rights) of others, which enables slavery, murder, and mass-murder. And selfishness... you can justify all kinds of things once you decide that nothing is real and True and everything is subject to how your mind perceives it. You revert back to survival of the fittest. The difference between humans and animals is completely dis-regarded. That is REGRESS, not progress!

This is why you can never take even one step back with these people. When asked the sum of two and two, is there any other answer but four? But they abhor the possibility that someone could be so absolute, so SMUG, so 'black-and-white' as to demand the answer of four and force it upon them.

The answer, for us, if we are to come out of this alive with our Nature and our very Humanity being held in a state of permanent RESPECT by our government, is to go back, all the way back, to 1776, and accept at face value, absolutely and without subordinating conjunction (if, unless, but, etc.) that entire second and third sentence of the document that revolutionized the world and then examine all that has happened since with intense scrutiny and vigor. We will see a change in our way of life... it will be hard on a lot of people. There is a certain comfort in slavery, and not all are willing to give that up. But we will also get to say goodbye to things like the individual income tax, corporate personhood, foreign aid, governmental subsidies (all kinds... corporate welfare, farm subsidies, and yes WELFARE!), unions, cops that treat us like sheep, and a general paring down of all governmental activity, across the board. Also, it might finally make sense to create two classes of citizens: Free Americans, and wards of the State. Wards of the State will necessarily include anyone on public assistance of ANY kind, government employees, violent criminals, and anyone who willfully wishes to participate and live under the wing of the Government. Free Americans will include anyone who doesn't wish to take part in that madness, along with lawbreakers who abused their wardship and were expelled. Don't worry; we'll take "care" of them... What will eventually end up happening is that walls will be built around the cities (look at the red state, blue state voting map by district! There are no blue STATES, only blue cities!), ostensibly to keep the unwashed, selfish capitalists out (but the sharp, pointy barbs will be aiming inward) and they can live happily ever after in their Utopia. I accept the fact that there will always be those that despise the animating contest of freedom and wish to live under the wing of the government. I don't hate them. But the idea is that there must be a place for those who don't want to participate, those that take their Freedom seriously and responsibly. After all, America BELONGS to these people. It is their PROPERTY. They created it, they won it, they gave it life, and they wish to leave it to their children.

Words to look up. I'm serious... no matter how much you think you know these words, look them up again. I do it all the time, just to make sure I am using them correctly. This is important. One of the tools used by subjectivists (Liberals) is to get you thinking that when we say the word Freedom, we mean the same thing. We don't. They have in mind the lower-case version, with if's and's and but's.

And so, having agreed on the definitions of those words, the question I'd like you all to answer is: Do you stand behind the assertion that all human beings are free absolutely, possessed of individual inalienable Rights, that our constitution was instituted to secure these rights, not bestow them, and, with that established, that each individual ought to be secure in his person and his property, free to distribute, delegate, or dispose of the product of his labor and intellect as he sees fit. Do you, or do you not, agree with that statement, as is, with no conditions, asterisks, footnotes, or subordinating conjunctions? Everything from here on out depends on this, and if you don't realize it, you are more lost than you think. Every argument has at its core a misunderstanding and the first remedy is to check your premises. THIS IS THE PREMISE! Every American takes it for granted. It goes without saying. It's in the Pledge of Allegiance. Our entire SYSTEM is built around it. And it is my contention that many of you don't really believe it or value it... that you would sell it for a little perceived security and misguided attempts to promote the general welfare.

Some of you *THINK* you believe it, but only with conditions, or you want to re-define the words it contains, FUNDAMENTALLY changing the meaning. You are adrift and have no real idea what you are, but you are socialists/progressives/liberals/egalitarians/Marxists/Fascists. Others know EXACTLY what they are doing and just want the question to go unanswered until it is too late and we are forced to drop the charade and bend over. Those people are called COMMUNISTS, Subversives, Fabians, Frankfurt Schoolers, and Fifth columnists, and as such they are dangerous to the entire Idea of America and deserve to be set adrift/gulag/HUNG. They cannot be allowed to continue to breathe, because when they get their way, you will only breathe by their permission. And also, some of you *say* you believe it, most of it, but you think you can tinker with the system, adjust a few things, talk sense to the Communists and Socialists, give them a little to get along, and everything will work itself out in the long run. Those people are called Republicans, and they have presided over 100 years of slow decline into SOCIALISM. They are ineffective and infertile. Anyone wanting to wonder why Donald Trump was elected need look no further than this paragraph. But there is hope! Trump means that more than half of the country holds allegiance to NEITHER of those three groups!

The question is, what are you?

The Wagon Analogy

Well, it looks like I lost another friend... not like R.I.P or anything, but my Facebook muck-racking has another casualty. My intention has never been to hound people and beat them into submission, but merely to prove that we all can agree. There is Truth out there, and we CAN find it. Our problems arise from our willingness to believe convenient falsehoods in order to make our lives more comfortable. In this case, it was the falsehood that has been propagated for YEARS that government employees, including teachers, firemen, police, etc, are taxpayers just like the rest of us. They are not. I don't want them to feel bad about it... the ones doing a good job should feel GOOD about it. I, and all other producers of wealth, pay them gladly and appreciate their work. But the VERY SECOND they begin to believe that they are somehow superior and a class above us mere citizens, the deal is off. We can no longer appreciate them. One way they have been led to believe that is by encouraging them to believe they are taxpayers like the rest of us. They are not, and it obscures the special relationship we SHOULD have with them: we are the employers and they are the employees. 

Let's take a County Employee, for instance. Say he makes $80k per year. Like most of us, he pays county sales and use taxes, and property taxes. But his paycheck comes from the county, too. So, why don't they just pay him less, by the sum of all the taxes he would otherwise pay? Or pay him less but give him an exemption card to show that his taxes have already been deducted from his pay? If his property taxes, sales and use taxes, etc, adds up to, say, $15k, why don't they pay him $65k and call it quits. It's the SAME THING. The end result is that he really makes $65k because the VERY SAME entity that pays him took some back. The same goes for Postal Workers, DMV workers, Military servicemen, Firemen, Congressmen, Senators, dogcatchers, social workers, Mayors, etc. And what I just described is not really feasible, but it should suffice to prove that they are not really "taxpayers" like the rest of us.

The analogy I used was only partially developed. I guess I should try to flesh it out a bit: Imagine a wagon train of pioneers trekking across the prairie. It has been a long and arduous journey, and all the horses but one have died and so most are walking and carrying their stuff. There are hunters, cooks, wheelwrights, farriers, cobblers, seamstresses, doctors, blacksmiths, map readers, children, soldiers, carpenters, etc. But only one wagon and one horse. At first, say, just the children are in the wagon along with the supplies/food. After a while, the doctor says, "Y'know, if I get any more blisters I will be unable to treat anyone else's blisters and we'll have to stop and the Indians will come and we'll all die." And so the doctor gets in the wagon. A little while later, the cook says, "Y'know, If I get in the wagon I could be preparing meals while we travel and we wouldn't have to stop for so long and everything would be more efficient." And so the cook gets in the wagon. A while later, the map reader says, "Y'know, without me, you all would be lost. My freaking feet hurt. I'm getting in the wagon!" And everyone else grudgingly allows it. Then, the carpenter says, "Well, without me, what are you gonna do if the wagon breaks?" And he promptly climbs in the wagon. Suddenly, they notice that the horse is breathing hard and struggling. A few of the guys still walking decide to help the horse and start pushing the wagon. After a while, the farrier says, "Man... my wrist hurts from all this pushing. If I injure my wrist, I won't be able to fix the horseshoes." And so it is decided that the farrier doesn't have to push. The hunters come to the same conclusion. Soon, the blacksmith pipes up with, "Y'know, since there are plenty of people pushing, I need to put my hammer and bellows in the wagon so I don't get too tired from carrying them." At some point, the seamstresses say, "Y'know, since we are going downhill, can we get in the wagon? We aren't really made for all this pushing anyway." And on it goes.

Okay... at some point, more than half of the pioneers end up in the wagon... or at least not pushing. Soon thereafter, a brilliant idea forms among the party. It began with the map reader who suggested that if the pushers pushed harder, they might reach a certain lake before nightfall and everyone would have fresh fish to eat and clean water. This sounded good to the pushers, but they were pretty tired already and unsure of themselves. One of them said, "Hey! We have to do all this extra work to get fresh fish and water... but you don't have to do anything extra?" So the map reader says, "Well, ok... let's VOTE on it!" And of course, since more than half of the people were in the wagon, the pushers had to push harder. A few days later, one of the cobblers sons said, "Hey everybody! Look at that guy! He's not really pushing, he's just kinda walking beside the wagon!" And so, a new idea was floated. "Why don't we have the children stationed around the outside of the wagon to keep an eye on the pushers so that doesn't happen again?"

As you can imagine... after a few weeks of this, the pushers ought to be getting a bit perturbed. "Look, I don't mind pushing the children, the cook, the doctor, and the map reader. It has to be done. I understand that. I do it gladly. But having the farriers sons whipping us to make us push harder, and the fact that the horse died a long time ago and we don't even NEED a Farrier anymore, and that ominous mountain range up ahead has us a little concerned!" At that, the carpenters nephew says, "Need we remind you that we voted last week that you guys can just SHUT UP AND PUSH!"

And so, the relevant question should be, are the people in the wagon helping the wagon get anywhere? Maybe a better question is, does the wagon get from point A to point B by the direct effort of the pushers, or by the effort of the riders? And the answer MUST BE that the riders are only indirectly, and secondarily, helping. They DO HELP, but only indirectly. The wagon would still get there without them.

  The ugly truth we all need to confront is that this country is at a tipping point. And since all I am qualified to do is shut up and push, it is up to you people in the wagon to kick out everyone that doesn't need to be in there, and tighten up your game, and at the very least, get out and walk! Or else, the pushers might decide that they don't need you and just walk away, like Ayn Rand wrote about. This problem was not caused by the pushers. It was caused by too many people in the wagon with blinders on, allowing them to think they were somehow pulling their own weight. That is the truth. And if I have to lose friends over it, so be it.

Decisions, decisions...

What if this was your family situation?

Is it possible that you are so INSANE as to think that cutting a paltry $385 over a YEAR ($32/month) will make any difference AT ALL? Don't you know that you would have to cut $16,500 ($1,375/month) to just break even?

Do you think that you are ENTITLED to a certain quality-of-life just because someone has made it possible for you to spend more than you earn?

You are racking up debt that you can never pay.

Well, you're in luck because the banks and credit-card companies can't force your kids to pay them, although they can, and will, go after anything you leave behind, like your house, cars, and other valuables. Which means that you are leaving behind a prolonged legal battle and paperwork nightmares for your kids. That's nice.

But what if it were legal for the banks to force your children to take over payments when you die? Would you admit to yourselves that you are living better than you should and your kids will just have to work harder when they grow up to pay for it? Or would you come up with all sorts of crazy accounting gimmicks to justify it so you you don't have to feel bad?

Well, take those numbers above and add EIGHT ZERO'S to them and that is what we've done as a nation!

Proposed budget cuts that congress was arguing about recently: $38,500,000,000

The bottom line: The government is spending WAY TOO MUCH! This means there will have to be much more cuts than what is being talked about. Millions of government workers will be unemployed and their programs cut. Programs like IRS, DMV, thousands of generic social spending programs (CPS,AFDC,NPR,NEA, etc.), County Code Enforcement, OSHA, at least half of the Cops and the laws they enforce, BATF, DEA, on and on. Those former employees will be forced into the labor market where they will stagnate, like the rest of us, until society collapses and they either starve or will be forced to sustain themselves by growing their own food, and providing services to their fellow man. Services that we actually want and need and will trade our goods and services for. But most of them, and the people that relied on them will starve and kill each other trying to survive. This is why we are moving to Oregon. I don't want to be anywhere NEAR a big city when that happens.

These are individual luxuries we buy and go into debt for when we see good times ahead and our income increasing and home values going up:

• Unlimited cable TV in every room
• Landscapers to mow our lawns
• RV's/Boats/Jet skis/etc
• Vacation homes/Timeshares
• Smart phones for everyone
• Pools and Jacuzzi and elaborate backyard BBQ hangouts

This is a short list of the things you will need to cut during bad economic times.

Societal luxuries we go into debt for when we think times are good:

• More and more cops to police more and more laws to protect us from ourselves (ticket for not wearing a seatbelt?)
• Child Protective Services to police everyones' parenting so we don't have to do it ourselves
• Welfare to take care of the poor so we don't have to do it ourselves
• Social Security to give money to our parents so we don't have to do it ourselves
• Medicare/Medicaid to care for the elderly so we don't have to do it ourselves
• DEA to make sure no-one is hurting themselves with drugs and mind-altering substances
• A giant military to impose our values on everyone else in the world
• County Code Enforcement officials to ensure that you aren't planting carrots in your front yard
• Programs to give money to artists so the can continue to make disgusting art without having to worry about whether or not anyone will want to buy it.
• Unions that supposedly look out for the working people but really just look out for themselves
• Census Bureau Superbowl ads?
• Paying farmers to NOT GROW ANYTHING
• Building extra bridges for car-pool only lanes
• Grants for Scientific Research
• Golden retirements for public employees

That is a VERY SHORT list, but cuts will HAVE TO BE MADE. We are living beyond our means. We can't spend money we don't have to protect ourselves from bad things that will happen anyway. The cowardly act of trying to pay someone else to protect you makes you weak spiritually and may be what caused you to doom your own children to slavery to pay off your debts. And this is not something that MIGHT happen in the future; it's happening NOW! Before I was layed-off, the government was taking $370 per month out of my paycheck for SS and Medicare. That money is not being invested for my future retirement... it is being given directly to retired people right now because the government spent the money it was supposed to save for them. That is forcing one person to serve the needs of another. In ANY dictionary that is called SLAVERY. It is here. It is now. And judging by the petty bickering that had congress arguing over a measly $38 billion in cuts, it is only going to get worse.

Funny Money

This is why everyone thinks gas prices are rising. They are not. Has anyone bought Reses' Peanut Butter cups lately? Notice they are smaller, but the price hasn't changed much? Or noticed that Breyers ice cream now comes in 1.5 quart cartons instead of one gallon? These are the effects of the FED printing and spending money arbitrarily (quantitative easing...stimulus spending). The inflation (printing money) has already happened, the government has been spending VAST resources trying to prevent the effects (rising prices), and the ability of the people to protect themselves from it (mass flight to gold/silver). And all we get is Obama and Carney and Pelosi LYING to us that it's not their fault.

Also, to those who continue to believe, in the face of insurmountable evidence, that the Capitalist system has failed, doesn't this alone prove you wrong? The economic history of the last 100 years has been the CONSTANT debasement, corruption, perversion, and subversion... FROM WITHIN, of a capitalist system that was nascent and imperfect from the start. The fact that they (bankers, congressmen, big business) have been able to lay the blame for recessions, poverty, inflation, shrinking middle class, etc. at the feet of Capitalism is proof that their plan to simultaneously subvert the Education system and the Entertainment industry has been VERY SUCCESSFUL. Not many of you even understand what is going on... and so you blame Capitalism... You, me, us... we all have been had. And at some point, we all will have to just choose between one of two things:

1. Dropping the current farce that is Liberty, home-ownership, choice of job/career, control over health decisions, freedom to travel, freedom to defend your life/liberty/property, the VERY IDEA of property and Rights, ETC. and just accepting that we are all WARDS OF THE STATE... This has been the plan of Communists, Fabian Socialists, Zionists, Illuminati, International Bankers (Jews) all along.

2. Disobedience... which must lead to WAR. This is fine with them too, as they have used the benefits of fiat money, fractional-reserve banking, and crony capitalism to greatly enrich themselves in the meantime so as to ensure the outcome of any such hostilities. They might even PREFER this because it will thin the herd... something else they have been wanting to do for a long time.

Doing nothing, or hoping things will just figure themselves out is the same as choosing number one.

I'm not even sure that voting this November can even change anything... Ron Paul could have begun the process, but everyone just wants to say he is "un-electable." And so... here we are; after all the warnings we had... Orwell, Huxley, Henry Ford, Jefferson, Madison, Jackson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Marx, Lenin, Rothschild, Tolstoy, Galbraith, , Protocols of the Elders of Zion, Catholic Church, not to mention our ancestors, who have admonished us against borrowing money in general, we STILL find ourselves looking at a big fight where we might all end up either dead, or slaves.

And I hope the significance of my quoting Keynes was not lost on you. He's the bastard that sold us the rope with which to hang ourselves.

Capitalism 101

There has been a lot of talk about just what is it that has failed and caused this terrible economic crisis. And a lot of mis-understanding, and ignorance and denial of history. This is an open invitation to everyone who is willing, and open, to a conversation about this. There IS such a thing as Truth. It CAN be known. And we CAN know it. Let's all find it together, ok? I'll begin with this:
Free-Market Capitalism is the mature realization and recognition of the preciousness of the freedom and individuality of each and every person, and the absolute knowledge that in order to safeguard and secure your own happiness and contentment, you must safeguard and work to secure the ability of others to pursue their own. It is the distilled knowledge that the best way to act in the public interest is to act in enlightened SELF-INTEREST! More than a BILLION people worldwide have enjoyed increasing freedom, liberty, and prosperity in the last century due to even small-scale application of these principles.
Socialism is the admission of, and resignation to, failure. It is the un-natural imposition of the idea that you are selfish unless you subordinate your every act to the pre-supposed wisdom of those that guide and shepherd the people as a whole. You are a cog on the wheel... a brick in the wall... you are expendable and if you are deemed to be acting in self-interest, you will be accused of acting against the public interest, and force will be applied against you. More than 100 MILLION people were deliberately starved and murdered in the last century by socialist governments due to application of these flawed principles. This is undisputed fact.
Free-Market Capitalism is the only system of human interaction that is grounded in an understanding of human nature and respect for individual rights. It is the fruition of thousands of years of experimentation in human interaction. It is the only system that states absolutely that every man is the sole owner of himself. You are not property, to be owned, sold, or used by anyone but yourself. And it follows that the fruits of your justly earned labor, and capital implemented, are your property, to be used, spent, hoarded... whatever you choose. They are yours... absolutely. YOU are the capital. And YOU own it and control it. And whether you put it in play or not is your business.
Every other system that has been tried so far has held that, to some degree, you do NOT own yourself, and you owe some or all of your time, services, even your very person and life, to your king, emperor, lord, society, general, president, etc. Nothing you ever do or create is ever truly yours, because you, yourself, are not truly yours. This is un-natural... it goes against human nature, and is abhorrent to any rational being, which is why, though they may. in their ignorance, desire it, and fight for its' implementation, eventually the horrors of its' obvious conclusions drive people to reject it. Unfortunately, usually by that time it's too late.
It is a testament to the viability and durability of Free-Market Capitalism that it has been able to flourish and create such vast wealth even after 100 years of being crippled and maimed by socialism, dragging the chains and anchors and harpoons of government restriction and tithing along in the process.

This just about sums it up... Great quote from Edmund Burke.

Society cannot exist unless a controlling power upon will and appetite be placed somewhere, and the less of it there is within, the more there must be without. It is ordained in the eternal constitution of things, that men of intemperate minds cannot be free. Their passions forge their fetters." - Edmund Burke

For a few thousand years that "controlling power upon will and appetite" was provided by Religion. Here in the 21st century we are way too smart, civilized, modern, and evolved for that crap and THAT IS WHAT MAKES US UNQUALIFIED for Civil Liberty! Those Liberals, Marxists, Communists, Progressives, Anarchists, etc. all say they want freedom, but it is their revulsion to putting "moral chains upon their own appetites" that makes them unfit. See, they don't believe in Morality because they can find no basis for it without invoking God. And god forbid anyone should do that! (pun intended)

Before (and contemporaneously with) Religion, the controlling power (moral authority) was provided by Kings, Pharaohs, Emperors, etc. The king demanded civility under pain of death. But Judeo-Christian Morality, which is built up, nurtured, and thrives in the Soul, is what sounded the death-knell for Monarchy and other forms of despotic rule. The more Judeo-Christian influence in a society, the less meddling was needed (or tolerated) by the government. This has been true throughout Europe and the Americas, Australia, the Philippines, parts of Africa, etc., excepting occasional bloody revolts by the intemperate, jealous, and immoral. It is true in Japan, Korea, China, and India also, but not because of Judeo-Christian ethics. I believe Taoism is to credit for that.

The converse of what Burke said is, "The MORE of it there is within, the LESS there need be without." Think about that... the more moral self-control you have over yourself, the less you will need to be controlled by others.

The moral of the story is: The only form of government fit for those who refuse to control themselves is Communist Dictatorship. The only form of government fit for those who will control themselves, exercise moral restraint, and respect the rights of others, is a Libertarian Constitutional Republic. So far anyway...

And so, I say that it is moral ambivalence, nurtured by the left via the abortion culture, criminal acceptance, denial of natural human physiological roles (homosexuality, gay marriage), denial of personal responsibility, religious hostility (ACLU), intellectual vanity (university professor insanity), abhorrence of logic (animal rights?), and multi-culturalism that will prevent ANY OF US from ever being free. As long as we refuse to control ourselves and act within our nature, we will be controlled. And a socialist society is no society at all... it is farm animals in a pen.

What would you do if, say, over a period of years, your personal tax rate went up to 50% or higher? And you really get nothing much more in return? And your yearly tax refund disappeared? And jobs were still scarce, and food prices were on the rise? At what point would you scream "ENOUGH!" and grab a torch and a rake and march on the capital?

At some point in the future, taxes *MUST* be raised. Debts must be repaid. If not, something will be taken from you. You might even have to fight for your life.

Now, what if you could put this reckoning off until after you're gone from this world? Just let your kids deal with it? Would you just keep on borrowing and spending?

There can be only two outcomes of this: War or slavery. Which one of those would you choose for your children? They will either refuse to pay increased taxes and go to war with their government, or they will give up their freedom in exchange. Also, if they lose the war, they will be slaves anyway. They will have one chance in three of being free like our forefathers, and God, intended... except for the ones who died in the war, of course. It comes to this: Slavery, war and slavery, or war and victory, but at great cost.

Is this what we want for our children? And it has certainly come to this. There is no doubt about it. We are probably at the point already, where our future holds only war or slavery. All we are doing is putting it off. Maybe a year, maybe 10 years. Hell, if we are smart, maybe we can put it off until after we die, living fat and happy while borrowing our children into being the ones that have to make the choice! That was sarcasm. But that is exactly what we are doing.

Here's what's happening now: The government, since 1913, has been borrowing money. Sometimes, they just print it. But they have learned that just printing money has long-term negative consequences that we, here and now, must bear. So, the preferred method has been selling bonds and such, and straight up borrowing from other nations. The way they play the game, they can continue to do this as long as the people will pay the interest, or they can hide it. Everything that has happened since then has been attempts to put off the consequences and keep the ball rolling, like taking the dollar off the gold standard, wage/price controls, raising the debt ceiling, outlawing private possession of gold, capital gains taxes, estate taxes, tacitly encouraging illegal immigration, not to mention the countless accounting tricks employed to make things look better than they are. At some point, the interest payment per year will exceed the total taxes the people are willing to pay. Make no mistake, THERE WILL BE A RECKONING! And then what?

The people that are doing this, our Congressmen and Senators, fall into two camps: The weak, and the insidious. The weak just want everything to be groovy, and can be talked into falling for even more schemes to put off the reckoning. The insidious KNOW what is coming. They welcome it. They have been planning it. They think the people are sheep and it is their destiny to rule us. They might be right.

I propose we, you and I, have this out. Here and now. It is our only chance to give our children something better than what was given to us. And, when we demand this of our government, it must accompany a threat of war. We'd better mean it, or we will be slaves sooner than we thought.

Our only hope of salvation for our nation, and the world, is to rein in government spending. Reduce the size and scope of it. Stop expecting it to help you at every turn. Stop treating it like the candyman. The only money it has to spend is money it has taken from you, or that it WILL take from you.

Plans of action:

• Read your History books. And read Economics. And especially Economic History. Only by knowing how this happened will you be able to undo it and prevent it from happening to your kids. "The Creature From Jekyll Island" is a good start.
• Educate yourselves. We can no longer trust that our hallowed institutions of higher learning are teaching anything worthwhile. In fact, most often, students come out of universities befuddled and confused and blaming everything on capitalism and with a VERY DIFFERENT definition of freedom. Their Diplomas aren't worth the paper they're written on and the odds are we taxpayers paid for the whole fiasco, too.
  
• Vote EVERYONE out of office! Every chance you get. The culture of corruption is pervasive and entrenched. There are only two on my list of for-sure good-guys in congress, Ron Paul and his son Rand. There may be others, but take no chances... send them all home.
• Only vote for strong candidates, tea-party types. Ones that can make the tough choices.Make sure they answer plenty of questions about economics and history and don't worry too much about if they cheated on their spouse or hired illegal immigrants. And then vote them back home after one term. No more career politicians!
  
• Kill the Federal Reserve and the 16th amendment. It is the mechanism by which they will own us.
• Kill Social Security. It is a Ponzi scheme whereby one generation obliges subsequent ones to take care of them, while also getting everyone used to suckling at the teat of the government.
  
• End collective bargaining. Unions enable some to escape the consequences everyone else must bear. They are corrupt, Socialist in nature, and a tool by which people are conditioned to obey.
  
• Learn a trade. Most government workers will necessarily be out of a job, and if all you know how to do is fill out forms you will be at a serious disadvantage and someone else will have to take care of you.
• Get involved locally. School boards, planning commissions, city councils, etc.
• And everywhere demand accountability, fiscal and fiducial responsibility, and ACTION!
• Learn how to grow your own food. The coming hard times will disrupt normal modes of transportation. There will be no grocery stores.
• You will need a source of water. So will millions of others if you live in a city. Think about that now... not later.
• Get to know your neighbors. There is strength in numbers. And we will need strength. The cities, which, not co-incidentally, have been guilty of voting in higher numbers for more largess from the government (blue spots on the map), will be VERY BAD places to be if there is a disruption in transportation. Food will become scarce and you and your family will start to look real tasty in only a few weeks time. Really. Think about that: We city-dwelling Americans will resort to cannibalism in a mere one-months time if the trucks stop coming. But people in Eastern Oregon, among other places, will hardly notice. Think long and hard about it.
• If it becomes time to water the Tree of Liberty, make sure it is your blood and mine intermingled with theirs. I will not go quietly in the night, and neither should you.
